A top flight executive team demonstrates (a) aligned commitment to the mission, vision and values; (b) decisiveness in their thoughts and actions and (c) functioning as one seamless entity… especially in ambiguous or pressing circumstances. Take a day on the water to test your collective mettle, hone your competitive and collaborative skills, and choose to make any adjustments that will leverage your results throughout the organization. Design/Delivery: We divide the executive team into two yacht crews – and with the help of a Captain on each yacht, learn the knowledge and skills to match race on two equal yachts. Additionally various challenges are thrown at each team, requiring split-second decisions, and strategic adjustments. At the end of the day there will be only one yacht winner; but there will be an executive team of winners. Debrief: During dinner and a debrief we will celebrate our wins (both point scores and relationships), share stories from the day, link metaphors between sailing and business leadership, and make “take-away” commitments. You may expect your team to bond more closely; understand one another better “under fire”, appreciate leadership styles, and make adjustments to improve the seamlessness of the executive function.
