Captain Howard Welcome

Yacht Private Instruction and Practice

“I coach and facilitate – I don’t teach”

If you a motivated adult who doesn’t have a lot of time, you need a coach and an accelerated learning methodology in order to make the rapid progress that will give you peace of mind/body at sea!

Captain Howard enthusiastically endorses personalized, private lessons as a way to pinpoint your strengths and areas for development, direct your own independent learning and surgically hone skills at an accelerated rate.  One-on-one lessons are particularly appropriate for the adult high achiever whose time is limited.  Additionally they may be the most practical, most fun and most economical option for mastering boating skills and knowledge.

Captain Howard is possibly your best resource for personalized, private instruction. He is skilled: holding both his U.S.C.G. Captain’s license and A.S.A. instructor ratings.  He is both knowledgeable and capable at passing his knowledge along to you.  And he is experienced in facilitating participants in “out-of-their-box” environments and through challenging learning experiences. He is uniquely capable at understanding where students are at, and in a non-judgmental environment leading and coaching them to their next level of learning.  He has a lifetime of work experience in supporting individuals in their intellectual, emotional and spiritual development. You may read about his work history, and boating and facilitating experience at biography.

For a day sail Howard recommends a 4-hour block of on-the-water time (dock-to-dock). You can either guide the learning design and tailor it to your unique needs, or you can take his unique design, the BSR challenge, described below.

Here are several instructional designs for you to consider:
